The homeowners will be able to take in the scene-stealing views of the Hollywood Sign, the Griffith Observatory and the Downtown skyline. A large rustic and feminine farmhouse style chandelier hangs with understated style. Douglas fir baseboards were custom milled by Paramount Studios workshop to match the original ones found in the home. Close the pocket doors and create a serene space for quiet reading. Painted in Farrow and Ball Railings, the moody blue undertones bounce off the reddish brown tones of the Douglas fir window frames, crown moldings and baseboards. STUDY The study soaks up the rays coming in from the vast lake view and filters them through wavy vintage glass. A long linear beadboard bench, painted in a tranquil deep blue, runs along side and under the window. The custom maple cabinetry has been painted in Farrow and Ball’s Pigeon, and is paired with waxed Soapstone countertops finished with a fine beveled edge.The cabinetry is trimmed with aged brass hardware, while furniture style cabinet feet and a floor to ceiling banquet style pantry add to the kitchen’s authenticity. POWDER ROOM Adjacent to the kitchen is a downstairs powder room. This small space has been artfully designed to enhance the contrast original wood windows. Here, tongue and groove bead board paneling is painted in Farrow & Ball, while the walls are clad in House of Hackney wallpaper for a charming entendre of texture, colour and inspiration. A Kohler cast iron pedestal is trimmed with a polished brass french country inspired faucet. MAIN BEDROOM The first thing you embrace as you enter the main bedroom is the view. A wall of original Craftsman character windows overlook Echo Park Lake and capture the most perfect sunsets. The bright, shimmering lights from the Hollywood Hills and the Griffith Observatory shine in the distance at dusk.
