As a fashion executive Amy developed an extensive knowledge and passion for textiles. This is evident in her tasteful, inspiring use of textiles thought her projects. With more than 20 years of experience, Amy Weaver has created beautiful, sophisticated interiors in many wonderful settings across the U.S. We talk to Amy Weaver about the design project. THE PROPERTY The homeowner, having lived in England for many years, admired English design and style and wanted to emulate the classic look throughout her home. The property would have been called quite traditional in its day but with the help of Amy Weaver Design from San Francisco it was turned into a wonderful family home that hosted many fabulous parties. Although the bones of the house were fairly traditional, Amy was able to create a modern day open floor plan that felt in keeping with the style of property in the area, but with an up-to-date look. The team used an array of gorgeous white marbles, mixed with ebony hickory floors to really make this home shine.Custom furniture throughout this home with a twist towards a California vibe with natural linens, interesting grass cloths from Phillip Jeffries and lovely hand tufted rugs from Stark gave the house the look and feel it deserved. GUEST HOUSE If you live close to the sea, it’s important to combine practicality with aesthetics. Opt for floors that will cope with sand, while exterior decking is a good option – teak wears well with age. The interior design team upholstered furniture in durable materials. Consider washable slipcovers for sofas and chairs, while canvas, linen and hessian are resilient and suit a natural, coastal look. LIVING ROOM DOWNSTAIRS SITTING ROOM KITCHEN Even in a totally white kitchen diner, an accent colour can be easily added with accessories and textiles. Here, leather bar stools and and walnut counter tops add color and interest.
