This exquisite design house was undertaken by the interior design experts atLeverone Design (opens in new tab). Each project is a study in scale and proportion, and articulates a well-defined balance, contextual appropriateness and relaxed refinement. The firm’s founder, Matthew Leverone leads the design teams with an eye towards the unique and unexpected – while his interiors are rooted in classical design with a clear, modern overtone, he creates spaces that are textured, collected and harmonious. See:Design house: A former rental home was given a fresh update, fit for family life A former garage was restored and transformed by adding new windows and doors, renovating the bathroom and adding private sleeping quarters to serve guests as a comfortable retreat, separate from the main house. Additional sleeping quarters were built into a secluded niche and a bar area was also added, dividing the two bedrooms and bath. Whitewashed walls along with custom furnishings, sliding barn doors and custom bedding all add to the fresh, farmhouse feel.

LIVING ROOM

Introduce striking textural interest by commissioning a bespoke fire surround made of raw, tactile materials to encase a built-in fireplace. The designers created this rough stone design that brings organic warmth to this bedroom. This made-to-measure approach is particularly appropriate with new-build homes, as you have the flexibility over the positioning of the flue.
