While all of Joe Biden’s houses are capable of holding the special event, the White House is understandably unrivaled. As the most famous property in the US (and one of the world’s best homes), the home served as an iconic backdrop – from the ceremony on the South Lawn to the party in the State Dining Room. Here’s everything we know about the most talked-about wedding of the moment.  Images appeared this weekend showing Naomi Biden and Peter Neal on the South Lawn, surrounded by apt white roses that decorated the home’s façade. However, recent images from Vogue (opens in new tab) show more behind the scenes of the couple’s special day, including an intimate moment on a mint striped-silk sofa with Jill Biden. A photo posted by on According to a statement from the White House (opens in new tab), the couple welcomed 250 guests to the nation’s most recognized garden, which took place at 11:00 AM EST. After the marriage ceremony, the President and First Lady held a luncheon for the wedding party in the State Dining Room of the White House. Later that evening, the celebrations continued at a reception with ‘dessert and dancing.’  ‘It has been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and carve out such an incredible life for herself,’ President Joe and the First Lady say in their statement.  ‘Now, we are filled with pride to see her choose Peter as her husband, and we’re honored to welcome him to our family. We wish them days full of laughter and a love that grows deeper with every passing year.’ Naomi Biden joins the likes of Lucy Payne Washington, who was the first person to marry in the White House, and Alice Roosevelt’s wedding to Nicholas Longworth, which is known to be the grandest nuptial affair in the home’s history.  In more recent times (1971), Tricia Nixon married Edward F. Cox in the Rose Garden – marking the first outdoor wedding at the White House. 51 years later, President Biden’s granddaughter followed suit. Joe Biden’s book Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics is a New York Times Best Seller. It tells the story of his life and career prior to his emergence as Barack Obama’s vice president, and of course, President of the United States.
