Michael, who is also known for starring in Just Mercy and The Black Panther franchise, purchased the modern farmhouse style residence last May for $12.5 million. He has since spent $500,000 renovating the property – improving the home’s security and air-conditioning systems – The Wall Street Journal. (opens in new tab) reports.  The Californian-born actor shared the home with model and socialite Lori Harvey and also has a residence in Sherman Oaks that he purchased in 2015 for $1.7 million. He recently sold a Hollywood Hills home he acquired from actress Daisy Fuentes in 2019 for $7 million. Here, we tour his Encino property.   Michael’s home, which sprawls across half an acre of the famous SoCal postcode, comprises 12,300 square feet of living space, eight bedrooms, and 10 full bathrooms. Much of the home exhibits modern open-plan living room ideas – seen primarily through the neutral-toned first floor, which is drenched in natural sunlight.  This living space flows directly into the custom-designed kitchen that exhibits similar color ideas through its sleek white palette (shown in the marble and glossy cabinetry). The room also boasts two kitchen islands alongside a walk-in pantry, an accompanying breakfast nook, and state-of-the-art appliances that make everyday culinary tasks seamless. While the breakfast nook is ideal for fast-paced mornings, the property has a more formal dining room – complete with a beautiful wood-clad wall and more tall windows that overlook the yard. Elsewhere, there is another wooden-paned home office – lined with bookshelves to bring pockets color to the otherwise neutral space. Beyond the main living spaces, the house has a soundproof movie theater, a glass-walled, temperature-controlled wine room, and a spa (located in a separate structure currently used for massages).  Other notable features include the dual walk-in closets (and one for shoes) and a private balcony with unrivaled views of the estate.  Outside, the backyard ideas are equally luxurious. A large cabana – furnished for an al fresco dinner party – sits alongside the large swimming pool and guest house – and there is a fire-pit area for when the sun sets on Los Angeles.   Andrew Mortaza (opens in new tab) and Bryan Castaneda (opens in new tab) of The Agency currently hold the $12.9 million listing.
