The palazzo – located in stylish Palermo, the Sicilian capital – is currently available on Airbnb, and some dates are still available for summer (or, at this point, at least). However, with its stately neoclassical architecture, trompe-l’oeil frescoes, and Murano chandeliers, this celebration of Italy’s past will impress at any point of the calendar.  HBO’s White Lotus recently aired its second series – and it’s everywhere at the moment (it recently won big at this year’s Golden Globes, after all). However, the mansion (which is indisputably one of the world’s best homes) has a notable history that stretches far beyond its reputation in 2023.  Some parts of the Villa Tasca estate date back to the 1500s – but the home itself exhibits a late-1800s Romantic era aesthetic through its intricate architecture and intricate decorating ideas. From the gilt-framed paintings in the bedroom to the fringed sofas in the main living space – every room oozes timeless style and unrivalled luxury.  In episode three of White Lotus’ second season, characters Harper (Aubrey Plaza) and Daphne (Meghann Fahy) visit the area for a girls’ trip away and consequently book Villa Tasca for the night.  The villa rises proudly out of the verdant gardens, with a double staircase sweeping up to its windows and intricate decorations on every corner.  Other luxe assets include the gold-edged portraits and carved wooden closets that surround the king and queen-size beds in the bedrooms. These spaces are categorized by four distinct color ideas: contessa, blue, pink, and majolica. Meanwhile, marble tiles demand attention in the bathroom – complete with a large soaking tub and a large twin vanity, similarly draped in marble.  It’s easy to see why Villa Tasca was such a natural choice for Harper and Daphne. The tiled terrace serves as a perfect spot for a pre-dinner aperitivo –and the swimming pool, music room, and bar offer more entertainment around the estate. The grounds also include a citrus garden, botanical garden, and greenhouse, for a further escape from reality.  Courtesy of a talented chef, freshly cooked food is included in the rental cost – along with a butler, two room attendants, and an on-call concierge service to ensure your stay is as seamless as possible.  Located between Palermo and Monreale, Villa Tasca is only 7 minutes from the must-see Cappella Palatina – the must-see royal chapel of the Norman Palace on the island’s capital. It also neighbors the Palazzo dei Normanni, and the extraordinary Cappuccini Catacombs – though you’d be forgiven for never wanting to venture beyond its grounds. Villa Tasca (opens in new tab) is now available on Airbnb from around $5,975.85 per night.
